A look back.

Sometimes it is easy to forget all that we have been through and endured. From the struggles we overcome, the joys we experience, and the parts of our lives that come and go - we can often minimize ourselves when overlooking the vibrant path leading to where we are in the present.
If you like, start by journaling and making a timeline for yourself. This can be any duration you like (last 10 years, last year, whole life), and write freely any items that might pop into your mind while thinking of that time. These memories could include where you lived, where you worked, if you had a partner, pets, challenges, passions, etc...
As you start to place yourself back in those times, surrounded by those interests/people/events - you may potentially remember pieces that you had thought forgotten. As the timeline grows, you also might feel a sense of power seeing directly what you have overcome, experienced, and grown through in your life. You may also feel a sadness for those things you have lost - and hold space to remember and reflect on these if you feel it appropriate. By the time you reach the present, it is possible you will be surprised by how much life you have experienced - and often overlook.
Example format (of course this can and will likely be different for everyone): 10 years ago - Where did I live? What was important to me? What were my aspirations? What were my fears? Did I have people or pets around me that I loved?
8 years ago - ...
7 years ago - ...
5 years ago - ... and so on...
